Special projects for the girls
Thanks to volenteers of the Israeli organization Planting Hopes, the girls in the youth village could enjoy special activities: They spend a creative day designing their own t-shirts and on another occasion they organized and celebrated an unique Shabbat day.
School graduation ceremony in Kiriat Yearim
The school graduation ceremony is every year a very special event. This year, 14 boys and girls very proudly received their diplomas. This is a great achievement, taken in consideration what those young people already went through in their lives.
Training program Heznek
In addition to the general schooling the youths are offered an apprenticeship training in different technical fields to prepare them for a future profession. Most of our children in grade 10-12 take part in this program. On the picture you see a group of boys of year two in welding.
Arab-Israeli and Jewish children playing together
Within the framework of our dialog projects, which we organize together with our partner, the Trust of Programs, Arab-Israeli and Jewish children met in the library of Ramle. They had breakfast together, watched a pantomime show and afterwards played together.
Dialog Workshop for women from Ramle and Lod
At this year´s workshop at the Nanni Center in Ramle - again under the direction of Yvonne Christoph-Wyler - a group of 18 Jewish, Muslim and Christian women took part. All women are professionally involved with children and multicultural groups. During three days they experienced an intensive learning and lively exchange. Kiriat Yearim general meeting in St Gallen
The general meeting on 14 November 2017 took place under the heading "work for the future". True to its founding principles Kiriat Yearim until today supports socially disadvantaged children and works for peace in Israel. Guest speaker were Rabi Dr. Tovia Ben-Chorin and Dr. Victor Weiss, project manager in Israel.
A stamp collection for the benefit of Kiriat Yearim
In 2009 the philatelist Silvain Wyler gave Kiriat Yearim a very special present: He donated his precious stamp collection to our aid organization. Until this day the children and youths benefit from the proceeds from the sale. Among other things, a new dining hall and kitchen could be built with these funds.Videos
