Special projects for the girls

Thanks to volunteers of the Israeli organization Planting Hopes, the girls in the youth village enjoy special activities: They spent a creative day designing their own t-shirts and on another occasion organized and celebrated a unique Shabbat experience.

School graduation ceremony in Kiriat Yearim

The school graduation ceremony is a very special event, every year. This year, 14 boys and girls very proudly received their diplomas. This is a great achievement when taking into consideration what those young people have already been through in their lives.

Heznek - Training program

In addition to the general schooling, the youth are offered an apprenticeship training in different technical fields to prepare them for a future profession. Most of our pupils in grades 10-12 take part in this program. In the picture you see a group of boys of year two in welding.

Arab-Israeli and Jewish children playing together

Within the framework of our dialog projects, which we organize together with our partner, the Trust of Programs, Arab-Israeli and Jewish children met in the library of Ramle. They had breakfast together, watched a pantomime show and afterwards played together.

Dialog Workshop for women from Ramle and Lod

At this year´s workshop at the Nanni Center in Ramle - again under the direction of Yvonne Christoph-Wyler - a group of 18 Jewish, Muslim and Christian women took part. All women are professionally involved with children and multicultural groups. Over three days they experienced an intensive seminar and lively exchange. Another workshop is already planned.

Gingerbread houses for Kiriat Yearim

Pupils from the Meilen secondary school organized a Christmas donation event and baked gingerbread houses for the benefit of the children of Kiriat Yearim.

Kiriat Yearim general meeting in St Gallen

The general meeting on 14 November 2017 took place under the heading "Work for the Future.” True to its founding principles, Kiriat Yearim continues to support socially disadvantaged children and works for peace in Israel. Guest speakers were Rabbi Dr. Tovia Ben-Chorin and project manager in Israel, Dr. Victor Weiss.

A stamp collection for the benefit of Kiriat Yearim

In 2009 the philatelist Silvain Wyler gave Kiriat Yearim a very special present: He donated his precious stamp collection to our aid organization. To this day the children and youth benefit from the proceeds from the sale. Among other things, a new dining hall and kitchen will be built with these funds.
